Gus: I have used POR-15 before on the 914-6 projects. IT SUCKS!!!!!!

Zero-Rust is a better product

hrm, my friend used por15 on his t2's engine bay, and the results were pretty nice. Did the 914-6 guy elaborate on what he disliked about por15?

The 914-6 guy was ME!

We had a decent 914-6 that was the PCA beater, had some minor rust on the scraped areas of the floor pan. We stripped off all the existing undercoating and prepped it. Less than one month after painting with POR-15, the paint was coming off in sheets. After talking with the Tech-line at POR-15 we were told we had over-prepped the surface!!!. All we did was scotch-brite to clean shiney metal with a lacquar-thinner wipe-down.

Which is why I use Zero-Rust. Cheaper, easier to clean up and thin, has better sticking charecteristics

i'll have to ask my friend with the por15 on his engine bay how it has been holding up, I know when he prepped he sanded it down to bare metal and used some kind of prep coat that came with the por15 system before painting the finish, made it all brownish colored, nickel or something? you probably know what i'm talking about.
