I heard something about Ethanol blending getting pretty involved, but I THINK I read somewhere that Ethanol is a Rotary killer?

Use water and methanol.
|
ethanol is already in the gasoline you have been driving your car on for years...
|
yes, I know, but they're increasing the amount put in.
Bottom line: s'this bad? |
well, ethanol has a tendancy to eat up seals, rubber hoses, and other things that werent made to withstand large concentrations of it.
I dunno about any of the main seals in the rotary specifically tho |
WEll ****.... ive been puttin ethanol blended gasoline for ages...
Its a turbo so i put premium with at least 10% ethanol quoted to be in the gas.... hope this **** aint bad. |
I wish I could remember where I read that Ethanol is bad for Rotaries. Obviously the information exists somewhere or else I wouldn't have gotten scared when I read it was going to be increased...
|
just like extended life anti-freeze is bad also https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/bsflag.gif
|
10% ethanol is a pretty normal mix, and has been for a long time, it shouldnt give you trouble... i thought you were referring to some of the 85% mixes that have been coming out. Those blends require the special rubber and materials for the fuel system.

okay, well then thats good to know.... heh scared me for a moment there.
