Heres the story. This particular was rebuilt about a year ago. It was lubed with generous amounts of vaseline. The Engine will turn by hand and the starter was bench tested and proven to work. It even kicks out and trys to turn the engine when the key is turned. All electrical items work bar none. Do you guys think a rolling start would get it going or perhaps some type of solvent applied and then hand turned so it lesses the resistence to the starter? I am just trying to figure out if I have to take this thing apart again. Thoughts?

im sure you already checked but..... is your battery and cables up to snuff? sounds like the starter may not be getting enough power. does the engine turn over by hand easy? or is it really hard to turn? did you turn it over by hand a full revolution? something could be jamming it

Yeah I can turn it forever. It spins over and over and over and over. It even makes those compression noises out of the exaust. I had another car jumping it and even that amount of power couldnt get it going. Any body got any other ideas? Or should I just try a roll start?

yes. it sounds as if your starter just doesnt have enough ***** to turn the engine over. freewheeling it on the bench is not really a accurate test.

i would just buy a new starter. rebuilding electrical parts is best left to the pros who have the right equipment to test and repair them
