As some of you might remember I bought this car from a guy in Georgia that took it as a trade for payment for some worh he did. The guy that traded it to him said he replaced the motor and had troubles with it scince than.

Scince i got it home i did the standard deleation of excessive vacuum lines "scince they were all cracked anyway" and used block off plated on the upper and lower intake manifold.

Yesterday was my first attempt to start the car. It will start but wont keep a stedy idle. With help from my foot on the throttle i can keep it running but it surges fron 1k up to 3k and back down. I checked the vacuum lines again and no leaks.

The only thing I thought it could be is the idle mixture. I went through the steps the fsm told me to do but didnt help at all. Now I have a dead battery and a flooded engine so i'll try again later.

If anyone has had similar problems please post your remmedy.

P.s, the engine has markings all over it from a salvage yard listing the name of the salvage yard and 57K.

it wasnt bouncing at first....so maybe a vacuum leak.

but mine did that when the IAC hose came off. also TPS might need adjusting.

could be a vacuum leak at the injector o-rings or LIM gasket, and make sure all the old hoses are blocked off properly.

when i first did the vac-deletion thing on my s4 n/a i looped some of the vac lines...that caused some problems lol.

kevin.

added some grounds, adjusted the tps (using the 2 led method) my car will start and idle ok, but its at about 12-1400. it will drop to about 8-900 after a little while, but sometimes if i put it it gear it revs up to 2400 or so then settles down about 1500. if i can get the camera from my friend ill do another video.

now with the carb cleaner you just let the engine run and spray on the vacuum hoses and listen for a change in idle?
