Engine Rebuild
hey everyone, i blew my engine about 5 months ago, ive done a little price hunting on rebuild kits and eveyones is different. who makes the best rebuilt kit for the 13b? how much should i pay? im confident that i can rebuild the engine myself. i have no compression on the rear rotor, so all 3 apex seals are gone? and they prob screwed up the rotor and the rotor housing? i havnt had a chance to work on it until now. it only has 92,000 miles on it, and im hoping a rebuild will last another 92,000 miles, it really really sucks to look at it because its near mint condition
all the help is appreciated.
Its from Atkins......As far as I know they are the best. (well for the do it yourself type of guy.) I plan on buying the whole kit this summer. Try them or MAzdaTrix. They are good also but charge $900 for the samething. Just remember to buy the gaskits also......And the Video probably will also help.
I am planning on doing the same thing this summer. Take plenty of pictures!!!!!!

gaskits, as in for everyhitng thats bolted to the block? or like the coolant seals in between each housing? im thinking i should use FD corner seals and springs too? ive read there a little better than the fc's and theres prob no way of knowing what condition the rotor housings or the rotor are in until its all apart, right?

You'll probably have to replace the rotor housing at least, if not the rotor as well. When I took mine apart the rotor had dents in the casting and the rotor housing was f@*ked. The side housing were still good other than the fact that the oil seal wear marks were too worn. I'd also recommend getting 2 new rotor housings.
