I have been looking at all new 13b parts today just spending my millions before I make them. Renesis 13b parts are CHEAPER than second gen 13b parts!?! I was just playing around and looking at all new parts for my second gen.



A rotor for a renesis 13b is $305.13, a second gen 13b rotor is $527.00. The E shaft for a renesis is $176.66 and second gen is $340.68. In both cases the renesis parts are superior i.e. the renesis rotor is lighter weight and has a 10.0 to 1 ratio and the E shaft can hold more RPM than the second gen parts... What gives? Is this a classic case of supply and demand? Why must we be pillaged and butt raped?



These are specifics from one mazda performance shop but the prices are fairly par for the course. Even some of the interchangeable parts are cheaper in the renesis application. I don' t get it! Somebody break it down for me, I am lost like a jewish kid without his dradle.

they obviously expect to sell a lot of renisis stuff, i think.

dont worry the prices will come up, they almost cant go down, it would be a big tax hit for mazdausa if they lowered prices

well it doesnt make sense to buy renisis parts and wait for the price to maybe come up. if you're gonna build one though now is the time

Do you know of any place that sells the R 13b shortblock complete? Or should I be slapped like a newby bitch for not looking in the gen specific rx-8 section?

I priced the pieces and parts for $4346.34... 5K is not so bad really. Do you have a link 4 that info?

I haven't figured all the numbers yet, but I wonder how that price would compare with a S5 with lightened rotors, all new parts, porting, better e-shaft, etc. ....makes me wonder if it would be easier/cheaper to go with the FE. (yeah, I know...ECU, fitment, all that other jazz is involved) The FE would easily have more power, right?

FE has more potential in my mind, but that might be heresy around here. It has higher compresion ratio with stock rotors @ 10.0 to 1. There is ZERO overlap in exhaust/intake cycles (like TOP TOP end race cars). I have heard rumors that the renesis was engineered in part to be squeezed or blown. Anyway, as it stands normally aspirated it produces more than 200 BHP but less than 250 BHP. I think this engine (depending upon American sales success "Damn Geijin") will start having renesis specifically tuned turbos and even supers in less than 12-18 months. As far as the cost differential between an FC with this and that vs. a stock FE I dunno mate. I just feel that the FE has all the potential in the world. Even the metalurgical treatments are different. Not to plug another site but check out www.yawpower.com they are peaking and tweaking an FE as we speak... With a supercharger of all things.
