OK so I removed my emissions, and now my car won't start. At first I thought it was flooded because some fuel ran into the motor when i removed the injectors, but I tried to unflood it, and after a few tries, nothing. I haven't had a chance to take the plugs out because I seem to have misplaced my socket. I couldn't find any vacuum leaks, but maybe I have something routed wrong? I have the FPR to the dynamic chamber, and the injector air bleed is where it always was. I have everything else capped except the cruise control and the vacuum for the butterflies, with the line that runs under the throttle body (with the little green canister in the line). I have the fuel filter line going to the primary rail, and the return going to the fuel return next to the filter (under the brake booster). I wasn't sure what to do with all the other junk on the TB after I removed the ACV from the dynamic chamber, so I just capped all the lines except the one that runs to the butterflies. I also capped the giant hose from the intake pipe. Should that giant hose be run back to the mess on the backside of the TB, or is there something else I am missing?

THanks

Leo

How would I pressurize it?

I did not remove the butterflies.

I forgot to ask, should I have removed the butterflies? Would/could that be the cause of this?

definitely double check that you have the fuel feed line on the proper side and the return line on the proper side.

to "pressurize" the fuel system you normally turn the key from off to on (all the way but without starting it) like 3 or 4 times then crank it just so the fuel pump pumps some fuel into the lines.

does it just continually crank, does it not crank, does it sputter or what "it doesnt start" isnt too descriptive .

why did you take your fuel injectors out? that doesnt have anything to do with emissions removal.

make sure your intake is on the motor correctly, make sure you capped the big line good, no leaks.

umm i need good quality pics or something for me to see what it *could* be, these are really just pointers.

It cranks and cranks and cranks but doesn't start. I removed the injectors because I had to remove the upper intake manifold to get to the EGR and the fuel line under the manifold as well. I don't see how the intake could be on incorrectly, so I doubt that's it. I'll take pics this weekend to see if they'll help...

You said something about the ACV on the dynamic chamber, I assume you mean the BAC. I don't think that would have anything to do with it, but I could be wrong. As far as vaccum lines, I don't think anything you could feasably route wrong could keep the car from starting, at least with the rats nest gone, except the fuel lines. You should also check the injector plugs thoroughly, I think those things have a tendency to suck.

The intake being on properly..... That means no leaks, a new gasket, and tightening the bolts equally, a little bit at a time, in a sort of star pattern, like you would tighten your lugnuts. Maybe a little silicone sealant, if your having a problem sealing it.

Also, did you use new injector grommetts and o-rings? It only costs like 20 bucks at most to get them, and old worn out one's are likely to cause pretty bad things.

That all I could think of at the moment....

It turns out that I am, in fact, legally retarded. I just had the fuel lines backwards. Someone on the evil forum even mentioned it and it just went in one ear and out the other, so to speak. I had already put new grommets and o-rings in the injectors, so I am just thanking God right now that they aren't leaking, because they did that once before and I almost shot the damn car!!! But the thing starts fine now, seems to run alright as well. I only took it for a very short drive yesterday, so hopefully everything will be OK in the long run.
