I went around a corner today and the car died. Well I dragged it home and tried to restart but nothing. then with the key off under the ignighter next to the fire wall smoke came up from under it. I quickly removed the battery and then removed the ignighter. Under the ignighter there are the two plugs that go to the mian relay. two wires were burned one white and blue and one black and white. One apears to go to a 30 amp fuseable link and the other to some sort of relay switch. what could have caused this? the wires are burned mostly near the plug when I cut the tape away I found that the insulation was melted a little but not badly. I'm asuming that the wires will burn mostly closest to the short. I'm hoping that if I replace the wires the proble will be solved. Is there anything that I should look for?

I would say repair the wires and keep a close eye on it, try to trace the wiring and see if its rubbing anywhere else or why those wires were fugged to begin with.
