did you plug the bypass in the water pump housing when you took the thermostat out? if you didnt then theres nothing to circulate the water thru the radiator

You might not have enough CFM on the fan.

You might have the wires crossed.

Electric fans are DC motors, they will work either direction no matter where you put power and ground.. Do you have the fan actually pulling the air through the car, or is the fan fighting the wind by cause of the wiring being backwards?

Where is this fan from anyways? How do you know it will move as much air as the stock fan can? What's your shrouding like? The less shrouding there is the less effective the fan becomes, which ultimately means less CFM passing by the radiator. Less CFM, less cooling.

BINGO!

My guess is that is either crossed wires, or the fan is not "strong" enough.

If the wires are crossed, the temps SHOULD stay normal at idle, but as soon as you start driving the car, the temps WILL start creeping up.

I have a black magic fan, that only covers 3/4 of the radiator, and never had a problem with its cooling capacity.

Are you running a front mount intercooler?

I had the same issue, when I installed a FMIC...

no fmic, the fan is ment to push but i have it to pull. the fan is weaker when pulling than pushing. altough the fan is no where near the same cfm as the stock fan pulling or pushing and im not using any shroud. so yes the fan is weak + no shroud = less cooling . Am upgrading to black magic due to many

recommendations. thanks

put your thermostat back in or bypass it properly, dont just remove it, its NOT that simple.

my suggestion: put the clutch fan back on unless you are running something in front of the pully's/behind the radiator to hinder the movement of the fan. I had an E-fan on my setup and quickly replaced with the clutch fan. It just flat out wasnt worth putting a new motor in and having over heating issues cause the e-fan was a peice. Some E-fans however are worth their weight in gold but you have to spend some serious money on a fan for its performance and even then you are still sacrificing a few amps to run it. I would rather rely on my BNR stage 3 power WITH clutch fan than an e-fan any day.
