Your probably going to end up welding for this. Why not weld something in b/w the buckets that you can raise up and down depending on how often you use it? If you support the bar under the carpet it should be sturdy.

Because I can't weld, and this isn't worth the time and money to pay someone to create all this crap for me. If what I have doesn't work, I'll just get the stickypod. I've seen it in action in person, it holds very well.

Here's a tripod mounted in my FC. The front legs are held to with electrical cable clips screwed to the cubby bin wall. The brace across the strut towers is attached to the seat back latches - mine originally had back seat. Just make sure your set-up is 'solid' to eliminate camera shake.

So I did exactly what I planned in my second post, just because I wanted to see if it would work (and I had already purchased the materials). It would swap back to front, so temporarily I tied some wire from it to the shock tower. It performed wonderfully, I drove around last night for a bit, and it was real solid. I'll take whatever left over metal length I have a bolt a brace from the camera to the rear shock tower. I'm not too worried about how it'll respond in a wreck, because I plan to use it mainly for auto-x.

Pics tonight.
