What would cause my dummy light to all of a sudden come on when driving?



Ill explain in more detail.



I just put my motor back about a week ago and everything has been fine.

I drove it tonight for about 1 hour and out of nowhere all but one light came on on the dummy light in the center console.



Got under the hood looked around really good and didn't notice anything out of it normal place.



Got oil, got coolent,exhaust isn't overheating, brake lights work, e brake is off, headlight work....all light where on while driving besides the seat belt light.



The car seemed to be driving just fine to me. No problem that I notice. Checked all fuse also.



Someone please give my some pointers on what the hell it could be????

Check your alternator/wiring.

plus one on the alt. get out the multimeter and test the b post on the alt. it should be ~14.4vdc while running. if not then you have an issue with the alt. next thing to do is check the belt. is it tight? also is the plug on the back plugged in? if none of this is the issue then your alt is most likely toast
