so my drivetrain make a lot of noise while driving, in every gear. my moms 86 na made the same noise, and after getting a new driveshaft put on, it sounds like new.

also, most likely its the u-joint, which cannot be replaced individually. however, i can get an aftermarket driveshaft from mazdatrix for cheaper, and this will allow me the change the u-joints individually in the future.

any suggestions?

also, my rear end tends to sway some times on the road, very suttle, but when wet, quite noticeable. could this be due to the driveshaft, or lsmd, or old struts?

i want my car to be smooth running to match its smooth looks!

the side to side could be a bad tire, bent wheel, loose bolts, bad bushings, bad shocks

There's a driveshaft place by me. The guy said he can rebuild them but its like $70 a ujoint. Something about machining out the old one or something.

My old auto teacher told me the same thing. He said all u-joints are replaceable, even the ones that aren't supposed to be replaceable. Then he started cursing about stuff.... he was a cool teacher.

yes, clunk clunk, especially when i let off and apply the gas. also sometimes when release/apply the clutch. it has also happened when i drop the clutch at like 4500 and shift high at like 7000 rpm, make a very loud clunking sound.

it also seems to vibrate a lot at high speed, and is very noticeable when i'm driving around 60 mph and barely let off the pedal.

that could also be a broken rear diff mount, check that and the tranny mount.
