Isn't pineapple over here in Portland, Oregon?

I drove by their shop once. I needed a EGR block off, but ended up buying it from Mazdatrix as I couldn't seem to make it over there when they were open.

How did the bearing go bad?
well he drag raced it but our guess is the reused the bearings maybe that one had high mileage on it. who knows
Did it break or did he just spin it?
Yea, I've heard good things about Pineapple racing, and looked them up a lil while ago...I'll probably contact them within the next few days. I'm from Virginia...nowhere near Washington, lol....

Either the bearing was defective, there was an oil problem, or the motor was over revved.

he thinks he might of over revved it on the burnout with the haltech rpm limit set to 16000 rpm

Yeah, everybody always likes to blame the engine builder. Stock bearing won't handle much more than 8500-9000.

If they put new bearings in the motor then it would require an extended break in period. Did they tell him exactly what they replaced?

I've seen that they sell rebuild kits with new rotor bearings. Using new rotor bearings with used rotors isn't the greatest thing and can require an extended break-in. I'm just trying to figure out why it went bad because I'm curious. I always see so many "mysterious" engine failures, like my friend's which has blown 3 times since November.
