When I open my door (Driver) on the idiot light cluster I get The Door and Hacth open warning. I open my hacth i also get hacth and door warning. I open me passanger door I get none.

The reason im asking this question is that im installing a viper alarm and i need the brain to pick up all doors. do you think it will be a good idea to just run ne wires from the door triggers to the sensor?

Thanks

GCV

Pull the door switch out, the switch mount is ground to the chassis. Clean the contact/ground. It will make a noticeable difference.

that would be the sure way to fix it.. but a pain in the ***.. you might *** well though.. since the wires are old..and you dont want the sensors to stop workin..

What Viper you installing?

Cleaning the switch mount/ground isn't that hard.. Took me about 5 minutes per sensor with a flathead screwdriver. I could tell the ground was really bad because even on the ones that did work, they lit up brighter on the panel, which says something about the voltage..

I swapped my s4 door sensors for the s5. The s5 are better constructed and don't get corroded like the s4 sensors. They been working fine for the past 10 years.

How are they different? Still a plunger style sensor with the mount grounded out, isn't it?
