Does Your Tranie Get Hot

i was woundering how many of your tranies get really hot or between the seats gets hot. my 88 does not get hot at all but my friends 86 gets really hot and can be used as a hand warmer kinda handy.

My GSL-SE was like that, it was rediculous how hot the tranny got, and that was with two separate tranny's.

interesting topic. are you sure its not the exhaust making that heat since it runs rather tight to the trans. my fc had a hot trans tunnel only when the turbo was glowing orange.,,,,,,,,, just a thought

im not sure whats causing it i just though it would be the tranie because its right there

\my brothers 88 Se get so hot you dont need the heat on in the winter. SO i never trully understood why some trannys get really hot and others dont.



Is it tranny overheating?

change to a full synthetic gear oil , i prefurr mobil 1 80/90. that might help.

hey there can be a connection. I have a GXL and no tranny overheating lol, bro got a SE gets hot like FIRE..

think it has to do with shifter insulation. my friends FD does it too.
