Ok well I had a new clutch put in, the mechanic forgot to put a ground back on... the car would run but barely.. I finally figured out why it was running so crappy when the engine tryed to ground itself through the speedometer cable. hahaha

Did you make him pay for the repair? I would have. Thats why you don't trust people working on your car unless you trust them.

That's something else, so where did he put the negative that goes through the starter bolt? And there should be a ground from an intake bolt to the firewall. I am just amazed it started and ran without those, using the speedometer cable! Good find!

I know the one on the starter bolt is good, and there is one on the top bellhousing bolt that goes to the firewall. I made my own going from the intake to the strut tower.. i went out there and complained to the mechanic so he threw it on the rack and tryed to find a missing ground, but we never found it. I was gonna try to get him to bend a stright pipe for my exhaust for me bc he screwed my **** up but he pissed me off so i just left..

I wonder where it was getting sufficient ground elsewhere until that part gave out and next in line was the speedo cable!
