Ok, I’m doing the V8 conversion to my 89 GTU. So I ordered a TII diff from a guy online and he sends me what he says is a TII diff, but it looks just like this GTUs diff and this NA diff I have lying around the shop, so I think to myself, humm I thought the TII diff was bigger, odd. So I go measure the TII diff in my brothers 88 rx7. Low and behold it is bigger, so I contact the guy he said the diff came out of his 87 TII, I say BS. So I guess first question is there anyway this is possible? Secondly and more importantly, if I go ahead and build my new driveshaft for the N/A diff that is in my GTU when I finally get a TII diff can I swap the diff and use the same driveshaft?

Thanks for any help!

the driveshaft ends actually can be swapped out. my friend had the rear of a t2 shaft swapped for an na one cause he's running a t2 trans and d shaft with the na rear end

Anyone have any thoughts about the 7" diff in the turbo II. There is just no way that is possible right?

I would have to say that its BS. I havn't run accross any of the other LSDs, but doesn't the T2 LSD have cooling fins on the the back (I have heard this somewhere)?

Did you in fact make sure that it is a LSD?

ya, it's an LSD. but it is definly the same physical size as my N/A diff, so there is no way that came out of a turbo right?

Is there any weight difference between the 2 differentials?
