ok im tearing the fc down with plans of bigger engine im looking at a t2 engine or re. the question is is the re worth the extra work or can i port the t2 and get the same performance im am going to use a single turbo, larger injectors, front mount, aftermarket ignition system and couple of other things, just wanting a honest opinion for the project your help is appreciated thanks.

I could be way off here but i have heard that the cosmo 13b-re has intake ports larger than the 3rd gen does stock and that the T2 engine cannot be ported that large. But i am not really sure that i trust the source so... i guess i am no help.

I do know that the stock exhaust ports on the 13b-re are tiny and need to either be ported or have T2 sleeves pressed inplace of the stock ones.

im doing a re swap in like 3-5 months its what i would go with the power out put is greater, thier are several thing youll have to do like 20b mounts and a kustom DP. you can buy the mounts from here www.banzairacing.net but its really up to what you wana do with your car like drift, drag or just have a quick street car.

i think that the re would be a lot better engine than the t2, since it has more power stock, but thats just my opinion.

13b-RE is a j-spec motor, so you are taking a chance at getting a good motor. If you find a junked T2 with bad turbo's, bad trans whatever, and the engine is fine, you may come out better in the long run.
