i test drove my car around the neighborhood and when i brought it home i let it run for a while in the driveway. my rpms are up to 2700-3300. then after a couple of minutes it goes down to 1800 then bounces between that and 900rpms. do anyone have an idea of what this could be and how i could fix this?

the 2700-3300 is normal, the 1800 to 900 from what i've read and experienced i would think would either be a vac line or dirty injectors

If you car is idling at 2700-3300 rpms, that is definatly not normal. Even bouncing between 900 and 1800 when the engine is warm at idle isnt normal.

Mine bounces between like 750 and 1500 until it's totally warm. I need to either clean or replace my bac valve. I know that can mess with the idle. Do you have any accessories running while you're driving or letting it idle?

at warm up the high idle is normal, the cold start brings the motor to 3,000RPM's for 30 seconds or so, then brings it down to 1,200 or so untill the thermo wax heats up then idle returns to normal, as i understood it he was talking about it warming up for the 2,700 to 3,300, and after the pulseing idle, the pulseing idle is something to look into, but the slightly high idle when starting is nothing to worry about

(this is just stuff i've read so if im wrong somewhere, im sorry)

High idle is normal at warm up but the it sounded to me that the idle of the original poster was that high after driving the car around, and then letting it sit at idle(still warm)

yeah it pulsates once it warms up. so what should the idle rpm be at? maybe i can continue to troubleshoot this car till i fix this problem. so what should i be looking for? the bac, vacuum lines, or the fuel injectors? or is there something totally different that i should have my mind on?

idle should be in the 850-950 range, i'd check vac lines, get the injectors clean or replace them, set the tps and the timeing and everything, and unless somethin else is wrong that should do it
