what would be the least expensive and most productive way to fix this problem?

was just looking around the engine and found a crack in the the header.....

any ideas on how to fix it the cheapest way? welding, or buy a new one?

welding could have the chance or it re-cracking. but have no money to buy a new one.

any thoughts?

weld it is the cheapest, but if it cracked once it'll probably do it again. i assume its a turbo car, but it may help to put some kind of support on the turbo to take some weight off the manifold. heating it up to 2000 degrees AND having it hold a 30lbs turbo is maybe asking too much

if its NA, then similar idea, it needs exhaust hangers that can let it grow, but also support the weight.

we had an older ISC header blow a large hole in one of the piped right at the bend. the hole was caused by heat cycles and the metal crystalized then blew. there was no fixing that header. if its just a small crack drill small 1/16 holes on either end of the crack then weld it all up. the holes help prevent the crack from spreading.

alright well i guess welding is my cheap ticket out of a noisy car...... thanks for the tips. and yes it is a turbo so the support is a guess to me on how to make the thing.
