I just pulled the turbo off my car for the purpose of porting the wastegate. I notice that on the exhaust side, there is a small crack between the two scrolls, and two more smaller cracks on the radiused part of the scroll inlets. I've heard that the early turbos had this problem. My question is: should I put it back together and hope for the best? Or should I put in a new turbo? The unit seems fine otherwise, spins freely, blades are in good shape. You can see the bigger crack in the pic: https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/moon.gif Ooops! No, not that crack!

Hey, how come I can't post my pic?

the only time you should be worried about the crack is if it is on a gasket surface. it doesnt sound like yours are quite there yet
