Hmm...looks like that front cover looks a little banged up, you should probably pull your motor back out and take it apart to double check...don't worry, it'll only set ya back a few weeks https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/cool.png

I have a polished stock one for now, plan on getting a fmic this summer, I need a good clutch first. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png Yes the UIM is just chillin there https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Rotaryman88 03-07-2003 06:43 PM

Yes the t2 drivetrain is all in, for now I have a stock unit, cuz im broke as a joke, but i plan on getting a 6 puck sprung organic disk with a high pp, haven't really looked into it, but if ACT sells a unit like that i will buy from them. That is next on the list, just need my job to start back up https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/dry.png

Rotaryman88 03-07-2003 06:52 PM

Cool, what job do you do? BTW...got the PM..that deal for shipping sounds fine. ACT does sell a pretty decent puck setup too...and puck clutches are typically cheaper from ACT then their Street units...I saw a 6puck somewhere for $265...not bad..

1Revvin7 03-07-2003 07:01 PM

I am a cashier at a flower store https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/rolleyes.gif ahah would have never figure, but i might have a new job opportunity to work w/ cars and make real money, https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/ohmy.png !! Oh yeah finally got a decent gauges pic. I will look into act's clutchs...

Rotaryman88 03-07-2003 07:05 PM

Damn...my boost guage doesn't go as high as yours....

i only plan on going 20psi at the max...u?

pengaru 03-07-2003 07:06 PM

looks good, can't wait to see the videos of it coming to life https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

i'm surprised you havent removed the stuff on the UIM that looks like junkyard identification markings?

pengaru 03-07-2003 07:08 PM

whats the black thing on the firewall between the wiper motor and the MAP sensor?

electronic boost sensor, for my gauge. What can I do to remove that "junkyard identification" markings? Any Ideas, yes i want to get rid of them...

Geoffman72 03-08-2003 01:40 AM

Wire brush, optimally on the end of a drill.

isnt it kindof annoying that you need another boost sensor for a gauge when the haltech already has the data ready to be sent out on the serial port? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

I'm guessing they use a sort of paint marker at the junk yard, maybe any sort of paint remover will work. Rob could probably tell you exactly what to use to effortlessly remove it. If you take a wirebrush to it, you'll be starting down the polished manifold route because the area you hit with the wheel will no doubt start shining.

yea i know i was going to that and I had tested that on the back and it started to be shiny, im not going to polish it anyhow cuz i want the fd intake manifolds. Yea I know it would be nice if someone could tap into the data the haltech has https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

j9fd3s 03-08-2003 12:09 PM

i left all the junk yard numbers on the 20b https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png , ok well the number.

revvin: wheres your intercooler bracket? looks good though

mike

1Revvin7 03-08-2003 02:40 PM

yeah I didn't get an Ic bracket with the car... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/unsure.png

pengaru 03-08-2003 02:56 PM

oh well, guess you'll just have to go with a front mount (place lip licking smiley here)

Rob x-7 03-08-2003 05:00 PM

acetone or laquer thinner will do the job. If it doesnt come off right away

you can use it with a piece of scotchbrite, you probably have some around the

house if your mom has one of those sponges with the green scothbrite on one

side and a sponge on the other.

You can also try a SOS pad, it will even brighten up the manifold being

its bare aluminum.

1Revvin7 03-08-2003 11:09 PM

thxs rob I will try that sometime this week...

fcrotornut 03-08-2003 11:13 PM

Man, with all the work you are doing, you should go buy a wire brush or two for a drill, and wire brush the UIM/LIM. It makes it look so much nicer. I did this on my car. it is well worth the few hours spent doing it.

Rob x-7 03-09-2003 12:12 PM

you just like pink, dont lie

1Revvin7 03-09-2003 03:27 PM

Markings came off in under 10seconds, just sprayed them with some EGR that was in my cabinet and wipped it right off.. Now I have to save up for all the parts listed in fd3sboost's writeup and start polishin'

mazdapower 03-10-2003 10:37 AM

Is your car white on blue interior? If so, I know there is carpet die, but can you change the colour of the actual dashboard and other plastic parts.

why yes you can, you can paint them, spray cans or you can buy it in quarts and use a spray gun.

mazdapower 03-10-2003 10:41 AM

does it work good... or does it start pealing or cracking...is there better types or is it all the same.

Rob x-7 03-10-2003 10:45 AM

its all in the prep. It works when you do it right, personally I dont use the spray can stuff unless its for small trim, I call up the auto body supply place and have them give me the paint in quarts, and they can match any color I need made.

j9fd3s 03-10-2003 11:23 AM

ive done door panels and one set is 3+ years old and is holding up fine

mike

1Revvin7 03-10-2003 08:29 PM

It'll look so much better. I didn't waste my time with the areas you can't see like under the UIM and in most parts on the engine side of the LIM. Do you own a dremmel tool? They work good for getting into the hard to reach spots.
