when i bought my turbo 2 the guy i got it from had already bought a greddy type-s blowoff but hadnt gotten it installed b/c he said "i knew i would fall in love w/ the sound and wouldnt want to sell you the car" well i still hadnt gotten it installed and a few weeks after i bought it (the car) he came by in his new turbo 2 .... i wanted to see what was done to it or w/e so i asked him to pop the hood and i saw a new greddy type-s blowoff ... when i asked him where he went to get it installed and how much he paid he told me he did it himself. (i was under the impression that the blowoff had to be welded to the intake piping ???) well a closer look revealed that it was connected to a 3rd gen. twin turbo blowoff flange and then connected by hose to some **** (i dont know too much bout these cars yet) when he revved it up it blew-off and everything so i figured i would go for it ... we went to turbo toys in tampa and picked up the flange for 30 bucks and sum hose @ discount along w/ some clamps and a ugly ass peice of metal for the bracket. in about a half an hour we put it in ... same as his. another friend of mine had a turbo 2 was running maybe 4 pounds of boost w/ the same blowoff and it was loud as **** ! i was expecting even louder since mine is running about 8-10. i was wrong. whats up this ? is that install even correct or should i go get it welded ? and if its okay the way it is, how should i set up the blow-off? thanks alot ( if you need me to post pics i can do so tomorrow. )

you can adjust the sensitivity of the bov.

his might be set for super low boost which is why its loud and yours could be set for high boost.

i just bought one off ebay so when i get it installed i will let you know

There should be a screw nut combination somewhere on it. My Blitz has it right on top. Bring the screw down tighter for more sensitivity. Mine wasn't even opening because I had the sensitivity set for high boost, i tightened it up and its fine now. As long as you have it connected to the flange/IN pipe on top of the turbo, and vaccume lines going from Bov to a splitter that runs to the acv and the pressure sensor (assuming you still have your air pump.) your set.

I have a little question...What is it that you have to do, or dont do, to make it so your car will blow off when you rev your engine. I have an open atmosphere setup, or I think i do. I have one of those turbo xs RFL look alikes. Anyways, i would like to get mine to blow off when i rev just for kicks, sometimes it does it if its the first time i rev and let off, every time after that it doesnt...

Yours is vented to the atmosphere, unless you have a tube that routes back to the intake stream. If you bounce off the rev limiter for a couple of seconds you might be able to make some psi, which would open the bov..

so is it bad i can build almost 10psi neutral revving without redlining?
