At a lot of the races I've been too, I've seen many racers put ice ontop of their TB/UIM area between races to try and cool things down, do you think this would actually help? If so, I was thinking of a "cool down" system that uses a small ice/water tank that has a pressurized hose system that runs along the engine bay area w/ misters aimed at key heat areas so you could flip a switch and the system would "mist" the engine bay w/ a cold vapor that in turn would work to drop the temps of the engine bay as well as the air running into the intake...does this sound like a system that might be useful at all? I know that you can spray the ICs w/ water to get a colder IC charge for the incoming air, but wouldn't it work if you could cool down the entire engine bay? I'm at work and bored, so you'll have to bear with the crazy ideas...lol.

Spraying a cold mist on the stock IC would do wonders, assuming you got some airflow through it.
A friend of mine has a water/air IC on his MR2...I was thinking of trying one in the stock location in a TII, just to be different.

U'd want to be careful with having too much water running around near you're electrics wouldn't you? i know its only a mist, but it would still drip. FMIC would be ok tho

An air/water IC has the water sealed from the atmosphere.

Surely, spraying a cold water mist on the stock IC wouldn't be much different from driving at highway speeds during a heavy rain. This sounds like a pretty neat (and easy) way to lower the intake charge temperature. I believe I'll build a prototype and start manufacturing them and sell them all over the world. I'll be rich! RICH! BWAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
