ok cool, that was one of my main concerns with the top on the Vert.. So the only other lil problem it had was the material rolled up like 1/2 inch above the rear window..

with the factory service manual, and some time to spare, this can be accomplished w/o taking it to a shop.

Nice.. So are there any other thing I should look out for..?

Shane.Trammell 03-23-2003 04:48 PM

lots of other things

89 Rag 03-23-2003 04:55 PM

The usual b.s., engine, trans, transaxle, oh yeah check the condition/service of ragtop motors ( these are $750ea.)

How do you know if they are good? As long as it retracts properly or do I need to listen for a specific noise?

Shane.Trammell 03-23-2003 05:21 PM

i guess one of us could time putting it down and that would tell you something. i didnt know there were so many verts in here

Apex13B 03-23-2003 05:22 PM

i was actually going to start a thread about asking if there is a manual override if top motor fails, I cant seem to find one

Shane.Trammell 03-23-2003 05:25 PM

in that case you just do it by hand

There isnt really a test to do, but yes excessive noise would be bad. Also the roll/sag in the top could be a simple adjustment of the motors. The panels are not hard to remove, 5 screws and 3 clips/body pins per side, if im not mistaken.

Ther is an access hole in the side of each panel to move the top up/down in the event of a switch/motor failure.

75 Repu 03-23-2003 05:34 PM

ok That sounds easy enough..

75 Repu 04-01-2003 11:31 PM

ok, another vert question, if I hold the button, is it supposed to stop halfway, then push the button again? or is it supposed to do it all in one motion..

Rx7Roadster 04-02-2003 12:12 AM

Thats how it is supposed to work. It does the so you check to make sure there isnt anything in the way when lowering it or raising it. Completley normal.

75 Repu 04-02-2003 12:13 AM

ok cool, one less possible thing wrong with that car..
