so its nice here in detroit today and i rolled my 7 out of the garage to let her run for a bit. so she was running great. sitting in my drive. then it started to beep. beep pause beep pause beep pause. didnt stop till i shut the car off. i have no warning lights lighting up or anything. im rather confused. help me out.

 

Do you have power steering?

 

You didn't shut it off when it was still cold because the alarm came on did you? I did that once, stupid flooding, I'll never do it again.



Is it like the key beep? Or the buzzer for coolant?

 

yes i have power steering. and its like the key beep. not the loud steady buzzer

 

the PS beeps for a bunch of dumb reasons, one being if the idle is too high for too long

 

So, what happens if your car beeps 5 times and then pauses then beeps 5 times and then pauses...on and on and on and on....

 

i think thats the steering angle sensor. if its not lined up when you put the steering wheel on, its confused.



in the shop manual this stuff is not in the steering section, but in the BODY ELECTRICAL section
