I have been trying to check the ECU error codes for my car but something isnt working right. The how-to says that both led's should come on at first then after 3 seconds, they should turn off. Mine never turn off. They just stay on all the time.
I have just finished an engine swap from an 86 to an 88 and I am trying to get it to start. The immediate problem I can find it that the fuel pump wont come on. It simply isnt getting voltage. I've checked everything I can think of but I still dont know whats wrong.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Andy

the fuel pump works like this; the cas gives a signal to the ecu, which also gets 12v power, ecu sees rpm and turns the fuel pump on. the fuel pump relay is bolted under the right side of the steering column.

Im using the 86 injectors but I also have the 86 wiring harness with the resistor pack on it. I thought it would work that way but maybe thats my problem.
it should work just fine. afm plugged in? there is a switch in the afm to turn the fuel pump on

Well, I feel like a total asshat but I got it fixed this weekend. For future reference: if anyone else has any problems similar to these, or in fact any electrical problems what-so-ever, CHECK YOUR FUSES FIRST.
