Hey all. I was told recently that all the original U.S. TII's were red. Is this true?
NO WAY!
um ive seen silver, black, red, blue, and others colors WITH original paint.
charcoal grey too
Really, charcoal grey, in T2's? Sweet never seen that. Anyone have one that color here?
I think the charcoal grey is K8, tornado silver. Anyway, thats the color of my na and I saw a T2 with the same exact paint.
I think he means the 87 TII's were only red, but I don't believe that nonsense.

sorry about the big file I almost painted it black, but thank god nick helped convince me not to. I love the color. |
So nice...
The charcoal grey is actually called Gun Metal, at least that is what Mazda Japan calls it. The reason you see more red cars are because red is the number one color on the US market. Red and blue being the most common US colors. In Japan the most popular were the Gun Metal and blue. You don't see a lot of red cars here for some reason.
thanks, now only if i could get it running. |

if it is must have been sold as a used car, pinstripe adds $500 to the price of the car back then.... |
pinstripe is also a good way to get out of repainting a whole panel when doing repairs
did they ever come w/pinstripping?
honestly i don't know |
Ya I saw a vert about a week ago that had pin striping, unless the guy did it himself.
there is a bare spot (no rust though, just thinner paint) on the sunroof, i want to eventually get the car repainted, but in the same color... its gonna be such a sleeper... i love it.
hopefully i'll get a job soon out of college, and be able to do a fmic this summer and change to a n/a hood. |

no, its installed by dealers, or people who like pinstripes |
thanks... i know the car was origionally from texas, according to mazda. Their service records go from 1987 to december 1990. The kid whom i bought it from was in New Jersey. He said the car came from the origional owner who moved to ohio. it has only seen one winter out of a garage if the story is true.
