Cold Air
#3
Rotaryman and myself constructed a nice cold air box that was insulated and everything for my T2 a while ago. It took a little while to do because we did it te right way by making up templates. It turned out great and since I had temp sensors in the before and after the intercooler, I could read the results. I saw about a 10 degree drop usually before the intercooler with my head light down and about a 20 degree drop with the head light up (I had the area behind the light cut out and my passenger side FTP out). It definently worked. I also put the AFM inside this box because I was thinking since it was a huge chunk of metal that it would heat up and the cold air box would be pointless. After some hard driving, you reach in there and anything inside the box would be nice and cold. We also insulated the custom turbo inlet duct with fiberglass and a heat deflector.
Heres a pic so you can kinda see how it turned out. I may still have it around somewhere....
Good luck

It was nitrous. It was just a test though, didnt do to well. It doesnt do anything for the TMIC if its heated up. When its nice and cold, it will keep it cold, but sitting in the staging lanes then try to spray, not a damn bit of difference.
How can you say that it was ghetto? Its layered AL with fibergalss. It insulates wonderfully. The outside was hot, the inside was cold. Cant ask for anymore than that. I would understand if you called it crued, but ghetto, come on man.
Now that sprayer was ghetto
