yesterday i helped install a CO2 spray kit on my friends WRX and i got to thinking that it was cheap and depending on the weather it would definatly cool the air running into the engine and i wanted to know if anyone here was using a set up like that.

I wouldn't. Carbon Dioxide isn't exactly the best thing to have when you are trying to burn stuff.

The system runs the CO2 over the intercooler, not into the engine.

I had one, it was crap. I watched the intake air temp readout on my Commander and it dropped one degree ©. After troubleshooting and double checking, we found that the system was functioning properly, it just didn't help. Add to that the fact that my intake is almost directly behind the rad/intercooler so I was sucking in the inert gas and you have a product that adds needless weight and complexity without any major benifits.

Yay.
