If you suspect vacuum leak, measure vacuum at idle from a source after the TB, if it's low you either have a leak or have damaged something regarding compression. If vacuum is good, look elsewhere for your problem. Bad vacuum, check compression first, after confirming that it is good (this step avoids potential hair pulling) search for leaks with a stethescope or carb cleaner, propane works too.



regarding the coolant bubbling, it could be air in the system, but these cars usually make it known when there is air, because it ends up at the top of the radiator mostof the time, where the add coolant sensor is located. Test to see that this circuit is functioning (unplug the add coolant sensor, the buzzer should go off if i remember correctly) if it works, your car would be yelling at you about the air.

Is the car running hotter than before? This is usually the result of having air in the system, in addition to the headache the buzzer gives you.

Speaking from experience with these exact symptoms, try my idea first.

ok the car does run a little hotter than before, not too bad though. I am going to try and bleed that air out and hope thats what it is. Brad Ill definately give you a call if the problems persist after i try this. Ill be seeing you in a couple days anyway so maybe you can drive it and tell me what you think.

sounds to me like you have a boost leak, like one of your intercooler hoses (or any pressure line for that matter ) isn't secured properly. I had a loose intercooler hose and it did the same thing. What might be happening is your turbo is majorly overspooling (trying to fill up a infinite amount of space due to the pressure leak) and is getting rediculously hot. And even on normal driving conditions this can heat your turbo to the point of boiling oil. I would remove all of your intercooler hoses, look them over and reinstall them being sure to tighten them down correctly. As well as removing the upper intake manifold and inspecting every vacuum line. This would account for your lack of boost problem. Do not get into the turbo hard again until this is fixed!!! Your going to break it!!! There is something wrong it and due to populaur opinion rotaries don't fix themselves by just driving them harder.

Im not driving it hard, takin it very easy, but yeah the turbo does spool to about 5psi extremely fast, but i dont really feel the power, then it just stays at around 5psi. Didnt get to checking the air in the cooling system, so ill go over all my hoses again tomorrow as well as check the bleeder screw on the radiator. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/wacko.png

Check the turbo inlet duct. It could of slipped a little when tilting the engine up and down putting the tranny back. Usually pops or cracks a little where it meets the inlet to the turbo.
