Clutch Problem
#1
So about a month or so ago I was driving around town, coming off a red light I had it in first, revved up, pushed the clutch (which made a pop sound I hadn't noticed until I went back through my memory) and when I tried to shift into 2nd it gave me a hell of a grind, and then went into 2nd. When I released the clutch, I noticed that it didn't come with my foot, which scared me, and when I looked down it was stuck to the floorboard. I pulled it back up (figuring it was just being strange on me), but the next time I went to shift (into 3rd now) it just flew to the floorboard, luckily I was being very careful with it, and when I shifted into 3rd it didn't grind to **** on me, but there was no clutch disengagement going on.
I'd been having problems with it before, not fully disengaging when I pushed the clutch pedal down, but after a week or so of this and some careful shifting, the stupid thing just went back to functioning normally again! I figured there had maybe been something going crazy in my transmission and it had worked itself out, but then the entire thing just stopped working. I drove it home (what an adventure!) and it hasn't moved sense.
Any ideas? And a price range for about where this is going to cost me?

you'll have to check out the clutch pedal linkage, master/slave cylinders and the line between them, and the clutch fork.
if everything checks out fine then you have to check deeper in the bellhousing to see if the throwout bearing or pressure plate fingers have gone amiss.

It could be an air bubble in the clutch's hydraulic system, check the flex line that goes to the slave cylinder for leacke and weepage. I had the same exact problem about 4 months ago and the flex line was shot.

ok because this guy at the shop says it's probably my master and slave cylinder being gone and wants to charge me like $320 for it, so we'll see here (I'm not a super mechanic, but I will try to search around on my car and through my trusty hanes manual and spot this flex line)
