it must be 4.7 without a filter change, I have always put 5 quarts

in my RX7s

I know this sounds stupid, but, did you run the car for a few minutes after you changed the oil and recheck the oil level??



I have always put 5 quarts back in.

Always do it when the oil is hot. Take it out for a good 20 mins and then change it right away. Thicker oil sticks to things like glue.

It usually takes 4.5 quarts for me.



Also, just a little tip, just loosen the oil filter until you can rock it back and fourth just slightly without oil running out the sides. Doing this will also NOT cause a mess.



Also, change the oil just after a good run, maybe let it cool for about 20 min or so, changing the oil while the engine is hot allows all the thin, hot oil to drain properly.

ok. Thanks for the replys. I check my oil daily and its full. Next time I will change the oil with the engine hotter.



It just seemed wierd not much came out.
