I have snapped 2 3/8 Craftsman rachets and now using a 1/2 Drive Breaker Bar still cannot get that darm center front crankshaft bolt off. I have tried the starter trick too. Starter just clicks... nothing is breaking it free.
Any ideas? Thanks, Dave |

Three options.
1) Put car in gear, have someone STAND on the brakes, put 1/2 inch breaker on, and get a 4-5 foot long cheater. HANG from cheater. 2) Keep trying the starter option with full sized breaker and cheater. Maybe have someone come with a second battery, set them up for jumping, give the starter a bit more juice. 3) Impact wrench. 500 foot-pound kind. Go to town. I've never seen a crank bolt that wouldn't crack loose with the starter trick, on any vehicle, assuming the battery is giving out enough juice. |
we put a breakers bar on it, and hit that lunberjack style with a jack handle, it shocks it loose

1/2 inch gun hooked up to my 300psi bottle of nitrogen takes them out in about 2 seconds :-)
