Well, I spoke with Atkins Rotary before I came into work today, and I'll be sending my core back early next week, and once I get my refund, I'll be able to get a nice lil catback to aid getting to the track w/out getting TOO much attention,lol...I'll probably go w/ the APEXi N1 Dual, I've always been a fan of that one https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png
|
too much attention?! thats the extreme on attention.
|
Lol, well, I like the looks, and I know its loud, but by attention I mean...i just don't want to have a downpipe hanging under the car and get pulled over...at least w/ a catback a cop might overlook the noise...lol(i hope)
|
Well if ur strapped for cash u could buy my old setup $350 plus shipping, not a bad deal. I just need some quiet stuff. For sale section
|
Hey, i noticed in your sig you said you need custom primary and secondary rails, now I can understand the secondary...but primary? y do you need a custom primary?
|
yea, some that are threaded to accept -AN fittings
|
Oh, and if you find out shipping on your setup, I catch up w/ ya when I get the refund from Atkins, looks good enough to me...I just need something that looks good and so I can say "Yes officer it's legal, and this special rotary motor doesn't need a cat, nor did they have one factory because the rotary engine is an emissions clean motor." :smirk:
And dont laugh, I've fooled a cop on that before, he didnt know WHAT the hell a rotary was, lol... |
yea i get a kick out of how they expect cops to know **** about cars, well i don't have emissions here so i don't need to lie about anything :bigok:

u should go straight pipe... catback isnt even worth it
|
lol! yeah i would have my stock ones bored out to like 850s or so if i ever do need more fuel. But hey that won't be for a WHILE! cuz im gonn need a house soon.
|
Yea, I dont have emissions either, but we still have visuals...so if they dont see it, they start wondering, lol..
Aight, well I'm getting off of work and gotta be at class early so PEACE...i'll catch up w/ ya about that exhaust...(i have the RB dp and presilencer already so it should all work out,lol...until of course i go gt35/40..then i'm selling everything again, lol) |

I would go with the majority that say a RX-7 sounds BEST thru Racing Beat mufflers, there is a reason they cost a bit more, its because they are the best choice for the rotory and give it a really nice tone.

It doesnt matter anyhow, they can write a ticket for whatever they want, then you have to fight it, which around here means driving it to the court and they look at the car, and those people know indeed what they are looking at, then you are GUILTY, lol. Even if you dont have emissions, its still against the law to remove emissions equipment, just because its not in your state inspection, doesnt mean you cant technically get a ticket for it, and if a cop REALLY wants to bust balls, he can have the car impounded. |

trust me, they are worth the money, spend the money now because
you will be wishing you did once you hear another RX with those mufflers. |
yeah but im broke! most catbacks are ridiculously priced! But i doub't the RB muffs will produce as much power as straight threw ones. I could feel the difference between silencers open vs closed on my OBX setup, the ones in the link... and that was N/A, it gotta be way bigger with a turbo. I think when i got the track i will bolt up some straightpipes...
|
Only reason I didnt buy RB when I did my exaust was because I didnt
want to pay thier price for steel mufflers, now they are all polished stainless, they will be mine. Unless I re-do my leather seats, we will see, one or the other with the house coming up. |

ahah! yeah well thats not exactly legal or remotely loud, just nutz~
|
that gets old after a while, too many years with that sound in my head
when I drive the car, time to change and make it quiet. That other vert is a pleasure to hear it run and to drive it, I liked that loud **** at first, now I want quiet and not to annoy others with a stupid loud exaust |

you like it quiet because your getting old, lol j/p, i run completely straight pipes, no cats no mufflers no resonators, the chanp way, lol
although i will be installing an APEXi dunk muffler, and will make single 2.5 inch set up not because i want quieter, because i want a muffler , and want a more defined tone |
thats ghetto to be routing your killer 140hp thru straight pipes.
|
ahah @ Rob, im 18 im not getting too old. I'm just sick of the attention from cops https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/angry.png Besides i want hear the sweet SWOOOSH instead of the 4 croch rocket/chainsaw/law mower bark coming from the rear end.
|
once you hear what a rotory sounds like thru a GOOD exaust only then
will you see the light. |
i heard what rotaries sound like through everything, and i like them all, should i get 5 different catbacks, and put them on one after another? lol j/p
nah i like the rotary sound without anything as well, its awesome on its own |
maybe its a brooklyn thing, I dont know, lol

no really because, i wanna go more sleeper style and i want something less flashy/loud. Don't get my wrong they are nice mufflers and everyone compliments me on the looks, N1 style do look the best, and its nice cuz they have built in silencers, i don't like the attention from the cops either. |
Are the silencers removable? I hate my neighbors :bigok:

I've already bought the N1 duals for my FC.. does anyone have a video for them? I bought them at the time because I thought they looked good, but didn't think about the sound.. what about with the silencers?
|
Oh yea I haven't installed the duals yet.. (so that's why I was wondering what I should expect..) becuase I'm still waiting on a damn ACT pressure plate! agh........
|
Apex N1 i think is pretty tight i herd its mad loud, the Racing Beat is powerful but low tone
|
all in all.....its a 2 stroke its gonna sound like ****
like we say at work....if all else fails put a 4 liter judd v10 in it man j/k i suggest you run a single outlet Apex'i GT series exhaust system if you need the flow for your TURBO car....not n/a |
I like the sound of a rotary on a good exhaust system, they sound like a really pissed off bike, especially if you have a light flywheel letting it rev quickly.
