Weber is a 2 barrel. If you go with a Weber there are side draft (IDE) and down draft (DCO) as the two main styles. These are really the best style of carb if performance is your goal, but a 4 barrel like the Holley is better if you are going for drivability.

WTF, I just sold you my entire intake assembly.

shpaintball 10-06-2007 02:46 AM

lol i kno you sold me the intake but for some un known ****** reason the fuel system does not seem to work so my only option is to carburate it ...lol unless you could tell me y when the car is off the fuel pressure is fine but when you crank the car it looses pressure ...car has been busted for a month now...i dont konw what else to do so ....

Baldy 10-08-2007 08:05 AM

I know you said you were positive you had the fuel hoses correct, but have you tried swapping them around just to see what happens?

j9fd3s 10-08-2007 02:44 PM

fuel pump working right?

shpaintball 10-08-2007 10:43 PM

i flipped fuel lines nothing i was right the 1st time and as for fuel pump it works fine however im getting close so i may not carb it ....basically i thnk it may have needed premixed as well as another ground to the fuel pump b/c the pressure is fine till i try to start the car and then boom it drops so it may not be getting engouh power to it ....but i took it to the only guy i trust when i comes to that car and the rest of my babies so im hoping she gets fixed or i will be carbing it ....yes i will be selling all manifolds...in fact i have 2 sets not including the one you sold me baldy....lol so anyone want them make me an offer and i can paint them any color and port them however i will not polish them b/c i feel that should be done at a very good shop and not by me ...although i have been porting for a long time

Temporarily wire your fuel pump directly to a 12 volt source.

shpaintball 10-11-2007 12:18 PM

what would that do just give it the power needed to start the car ? i mean the fuelpump ....make sense?

fc3s4utnv 10-11-2007 04:26 PM

If the fuel pump has straight 12v fuel pressure will stay constant

How much of a performance difference is there going from a TB to a Weber side draft setup? My car is a 1989 N/A track day car (never street driven)?

I cant say, my weber is in the REPU which I never had fuel injection and I have no dyno numbers for it so cant make a direct comparison. I can say when the REPU was running its best it was about as fast or maybe slightly faster than a stock turboII. This was on a weak (low compression) stock 6-port S4 motor with racing beat header and straight through 2.5" muffler. weight for REPU is about the same as FC, but rear end is very high ratio so that also helps.

I might have a carb and manifold for sale but it is for a 4 port motor
