I havent been able to get my 86 na started for a week now i let it dry out last few days and put a battery charger on and it still wouldnt started, i ended up pulling on the manifold from the passengers side to get it to start...it started and every time i let the manifold go back that slight bit and wouldnt start, I noticed one of the harness nuts wasnt on tight so i pulled and tightened it up. The car ran it idled no problem a lil sputter so i played with the tps and CAS, still ran, i then procedded to make sure there was no air in my coolant lines so i undid the rad cap and the bleeder screen i was able to get them closed back up not much to get air out, so i went to start my car again and no go. not even close to starting? oil smells like gas hmmm im lost why would it start when i pulling on the UIM towards the passengers side? Any help would be appreciated!!!!

tew

It sounds like you have a bad conection, someweher in that wire harness. You'll have to go in there and investegate a little more. A good test light should be a help with this. Check your ground+ main connectors and other obvious, but often overlooked stuff first. Let us know after that.

well find it (remove uim and look for a wire going from your harness to the egr) ,check to see if its broken any where or has come loose. Then bolt it back down or replace the wire. You have two grounds one coming from your harness to the egr bolt and one from the bell housing to the firewall the one im talking about is the one to the egr but i would check both just in case

Thumbs up

I replaced the one from thebell housing but the bolt fell down and didnt drop out the bottom of the motor so i ground it to the intake manifold, also there was a wire with some kind of black resistor by the oil filter that i cut the onds off of and twisted the wires together, is there another wire under the intake manifold i should be looking for? Also i get 7 volts the first front iginitor and zero at the back? Bad ground?

Help me please....

You might have blown your engine fuse. Is your fuel pump coming on for a few seconds when you switch on the ignition? If not then there is a 15 amp fuse on your kickpanel fuse block that might be blown.

This is only 1/2 of your problem though. Now you will have to figure out what is tripping the fuse.

Do you have a custom intake on your car? Make sure it is not rubbing the fuel pump relay wires.

Good Luck.
