So My Father put my car on the road for me.... i got the title transfered and everything shes ready and i got a brand new midpipe section put on for 90 bucks... but the only problem now is it is overheating and i mean REALLY HOT! when we got to the shop that was going to do my exhaust.... he put it on the lift and when you looked up into the main cat. it was GLOWING RED HOT! so i hope i didn't burn nothin else up in the process. but i am going to replace the thermostat and see if that helps but otherwise... i may need some idea on what the problem might be... so just let me know thank you so much...

if the cat is glowing it's probably clogged, which is probably your problem.

really that would suck, but... the car it self over heats emenstly. but i put new turn signal balbs in and its not blowing any more of those and i got to drive it up to the shop and damn its that a beautiful machine (its my baby and i'm in love with it)

if the cat is seriously clogged it can cause the engine to overheat.

if your temp gauge is showing overheating conditions stop ****** driving the car, the 13B doesnt tolerate that one bit, you'll blow a water seal and warp the housings.

And then your freshly insured car becomes a rock in the driveway https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/sad.png

is it inspected? if so get ur dad to weld you a nice midpipe and downpipe and get rid of the cats....no cats = no clogging = less heating to overheat the engine

MazdaEnthused 08-18-2003 12:35 AM

um i have a brand new universal cat. in the midpipe and the original cat in the DP and i replaces the thermostat and its been running fine ever since and i had the coolant flushed to be safe this morning and i put like 100 miles on it today.... i got some every once in a while brake squeels and grinds and stuff but i would like one of the rotory gods (Pengaru) to check things over for me... um.. actualy the temp. gauge dont move at all and i discoverd that it does get into boost and looks like it shoots up there pretty high so i was happy.
