The last few times I shut the car off (87 gxl) I had to pull the egi fuse to start it up. But my major problem is the sputtering some days the car will run fine and others it wont give me more than five seconds of power and then go back to sputtering oh yea and some times when I turn the key I just get clicks and if I let off the clutch and press it aging the car will start is this related??

I doubt they are related. The only way your clutch could cause your car to not start, even turn over or anything would be the switch that is engaged when the clutch is all the way in upon startup. Once the car is started, this switch shouldn't affect driveability.
