the car is an 87, i'm not too savvy on rotarys yet but i'm learning. what i do know is it has a vacuum line that goes to it and i don't know what it is. my guess is it's emissions? in any case the top pops off of it under heavy acceleration. can i get rid of it? how do i do it? should i fix it? WTF IS IT!?!? lol

I think that's a PCV valve. Pull it off and blow through it. Probably needs replacing.
