So, this is how it went. I reved to 7 g's, popped the clutch and put my foot on the brake while I slammed the gas. She lit up and I was standing still with a nice cloud of smoke wafting in the breeze. I wasnt paying attention to my tach though, which now, I think I should have. Pedal to the floor, think I was exceding 8g's, cause she kept backfireing or something. Before I do this again, not that I'll do it on a regular basis or anything, I'd would appreciate some feedback. Should I be letting off the throttle a bit, and be paying attention to my tach, probably a good idea https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/blush.png . Thanks for the input.

Are you serious? Do you really need to ask? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/angry.png
Actually, wait...nevermind...go outside right now, start your car and hold it to the floor for about ten minutes. It cleans out the carbon and is really good for it. After all, rotaries are indestructable. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/dry.png Isn't there some type of enforcement group that should take abused cars away from their owners.... |
some cars are ment to be abused...
either way, let off the gas when youre wheels are spinning... WATCH the tach and dont over rev. DO NOT hold the pedal to the floor. |
Meant to be abused...sure. Meant to be held to the floor with disregard to the tach while doing a burnout from 7000RPMs....probably not so much. I'm not trying to be an ass here (well ok in the first post I was), but really I think a little common sense would've went a long way. Be smart about the stupid things you do...
Sorry if I stepped on toes there Wankleteer. Next time go a little easier. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif |
Don't keep it floored once you get the burnout going go into second and keep it below redline fluctuate the pedal or keep it stable. To make this easier get a line lock system.
|
how would u be able to go into second while holding down the brake and gas at the same time...if u could wouldnt it stop the burnout or do u just have to do it quick?

what does a line lock system do and how much would one be...

Alright, goog stuff, it was the first burnout that I've ever done, so, wasnt to sure on how everythin' works. Thanks for the input https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

A line lock system locks up the back breaks freeing the rear to spin while the front brakes are locked holding you in place to do a burnout. You press on the brakes as hard as you can,hit the switch on the line lock to lock up the front, then you let go and the front brakes are locked keeping you in place during the burnout.
Here's a link to some of these systems http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?...+Lock&x=20&y=11 A video of line lock in action http://www.vosko.net/media/burnout/voskolinelock.wmv |
