yeah, i need some pratice working on my launch. that's what really gets me.

i started the night trying to slip it, but i'd push the gas too hard and end up just burning up my clutch, filling my cabin with clutch smoke (ahh, dont you love that smell).

after 3 runs slipping it, i gave up and just started dropping it at 4000-4500 rpm. the last drop is what broke my diff.

i'm realizing that turbo cars are hard to launch. drop it too low (i did once), and i bogged down at 3K and had to wait for the boost to build. drop too high, and you get get lots of spinning.

this was my first night ever drag racing (non-street), so i'm still new to it. once i get my mount fixed, i can try more and get the hang of it.

yeah, once you get that comp diff mount, you shouldn't have to worry about the damn wheel hop too much. Also if you have adjustable shocks, set them to full soft rear, full stiff front and get some sticky tires with lower pressure in the back, gut the hatch, etc and you should be in the 13's then.

yeah, i pulled everything out of my hatch area (tool boxes, sub box, spare tire). i was on 3/4 of a tank though, so that added weight probably didn't help.

still, my launch stunk it up. i need practice, which is gunna be hard to get since i need to fix my diff mount first.

on my 13.8 run I went through the 1/8 mile in 9.059....I trapped at 104 and had a horrendous launch. So I def. think a 9.14 could be high 13's with a good launch.

Heh, sucks about the dif. mount but the stocker ones are bound to crack after a few hard launches. Competition mount is the way to go! Next time I'll have the car in shape so we can tag team the local mustang crowd.

i think its funny i ran a faster time with a lower MPH than some people.... its all about optimizing shift points, the launch, everything working together to its max. it doesn't help to have 90psi compression on both rotors either lol

yeah, well you can tell by your 8.8 that had a much better launch. What was your 60'? I ran 13.8 at only 96.7 because of the 1.8 60'. That is so important in the overall ET.

Hell no, lol. That car was all wheel drive. Its not hard to get a 1.8 60' with awd, 15 psi, and a 5500 rpm clutch dump.
