Red face

Was dragging this V8 from a set of lights today, had about half a length on him and was pulling away nicely, went for the shift at around 6500, go to flick it into second, no go.... pulled over to the side of the road and pronounced the clutch D.O.A.

I think that the master cyl. has blown, as i didn't lose any fluid or anything, and i can get some feeling into the pedal if i pump it, but it disappears quickly.....

DAMN those expensive mazda parts!

Actually I replaced both the master and the slave for like $60.00 from the local parts store brand new, so they aren't too bad. Sounds like that is definetely your problem though.

So that was really your clutch burning, no your tyres smoking vosko? :P

I got quoted $300ish for my master cylinder on its own.

Found out that it wasn't the master cyl.... looks like something internal has shat itself.... i'm gonna go pick up my car on a trailer tomorrow and pull the clutch out.

the bastards are still tryin to charge me $300 to replace the master, which wasn't broken....

Any tips for pulling the clutch out? It's an '86 N/A.

Does the slave cylinder move when you push the clutch pedal in? I once had a 6 puck clutch "fused" to my flywheel.

I had a clutch break on me, it was engaged all the time, that sucked! At least the car could handle driving home in only 1st gear.

Mine got stuck at the TRi-7 Halloween cruise, but for some reason I got it to work again. The second time it happened--500 feet from T&R racing--I wasn't going anywhere.
