Bov Will Vent But Then It Will Leak

I have the Apex Twin chamber BOV. Ok So the only way to get my bov to vent is to loosen the adjustment screw almost all the way, but when i do it it leaks, how can I get my bov to vent without it leaking, if I tighten the screw it wont leak but it will barley vent, im runing 10psi.

you running a vac/boost line to it? when under boost there should be an equal amount of pressure on the back side of the valve and hold it shut.

Mybe my vac sucks then, there is a line that is comming off my UIM thats connected to my BOV, should I shwitch lines? What do i do with the line its attached to now, cap it off or hook a new line to the bov and put the pre existing connected one to where I will hook the new line up?

hmm, something goofy is going on. I'm not sure how those blow off valves operate. But with my turbo xs, the only reason i even need a spring in my bov, is to keep it shut at idle. When i come into boost there is (example) 10 psi, in the plumbing, and 10 psi at the vaccum line going to bov, so it cancels itself out.



It is possible that you need a better pressure source. Is it t'd a couple times, and or is it possible that it is leaking?

I really have no idea whats going on then, I put my old turbo xs bov, and i cut the spring alot to make it vent, it was also leaking, anyone have a vac diagram to tell me where all the lines go, I want to solve this problem. Please help LOL!

if you can, take a pic of what vaccum line you using. If it comes before the throttle body then it's not seeing vaccum, and vaccum is good. Because when the throttle plates close it aids the bov to open quickly and helps it over power the spring pressure.

i think i might have found the probelm. The line the bov was hooked to wasnt even even sucking at idle, so maybe its clogged, can that happen?

that is possible, or it is also possible that it routes to before the throttle body. the engine sucks for air all the time, but the throttle bodies act as a barrier only letting the engine have a certain amount of air. therefore inbetween the tb and the motor, you get suck (vaccum) in between turbo and tb you only get boost, or small amounts of vaccum at cruising.



There is a line that runs over to your pressure sensor on the passenger side strut tower. When i had my turbo xs there, I t'd that line, using sufficient t's and plumbing and it worked fine.



now that i think of it, a lot of those silicone hose kits that you get at places have very thin walled hoses. it could be possible that under the vaccum that the hose is sucking shut.



run me a big fat ugly black vaccum hose to that bitch and see if that fixes it.

Fixed the problem, the line I had to the bov wasnt having any vac at all, my bov is so loud now,I switched lines and it works great, it made my week, thanks for the help mazdadrifter.
