Bov

Or I have searched high and low (i think im not using the search function right somone help me on that please) and i cant seem to find much talk about BOV's.
I understand that the FC uses a MAF to calculate the proper air to fuel ratio and such. So i have been looking for a aftermarket BOV to replace the stocker as its leaking.
Is it safe to run a atmospheric BOV? I understand that there will be a spike in the fuel mapping causing the engine to run rich for a short period of time. But is this all?
I hear of alot of guys running there FC's with Turbo XS RFL BOV's and they say they have no problems with there cars. Where as i hear from some people that they run an open dump and there car stalls ect.
So what is the right answer if there is one. I was looking at a turbo XS RFL, HKS SSQ, or a Greddy Type-S unit. Dont get me wrong i love the sound but im more conserend with the performance of the car, not so much the sound :P

I too have heard of problems using an atmospheric vent on a MAF setup. I went with a Turbo XS bypass type and stayed with it through the Haltech install. It works fine.
But I'm not trying to impress anybody with a big BOV sound.

Just depends on what sound you like. If you go greddy get the new type-rs. The type-s has a weak spring and is hard to adjust and just generally kinda sucks. RS is mo bettah and similar in price and it looks cooler.
All in all, just go download some sound clips and figure out what type you'd like.

Ok well i may be picking up a HKS SSQ BOV, brand new in the box. Specialy for FC's for around $400 CDN.
I woudl be able to recurculate this unit as well as run it to atmosphere if i decided.
I will most likely run it recurculated. But what woudl i do if i wanted to dump to atmosphere. What do i use to block off the tube going to the accordian hose just after the MAF? Whats the best to use? A rubber nipple? Bolt that fits very snug on the end of the tube??

Ok i got the SSQV.
One problem, i cant run it recurculated. I need the little adapter on the front of it so i can reconnect it to the stock pipe. It came with a plug to block off the return in the accordian hose. So right now im running it to atmosphere. Dosent sound to bad. Not to loud or anything.
But the instructions with the unit were in another language. So im not sure how to properly adjust the unit to work the best.
Where shoudl the plunger screw be? Right now its almost screwed in all the way. It seems te release boost from 2800 and un when i let of the throttle. Is that ok? Or shoudl i adjust the screw out more so that it releases boost higher?
Any help would be apreciated.
