I've been looking into getting a 2nd gen as a daily driver on and off for some time. Being that my fd is blown and I'm moving to Texas this week, I started looking again. I found an 88 gxl, 2+2 5-speed. Car is burgandy with gray interior, and had about 97k miles. Paint is relatively new. Found it up in northern CT. Car was owned by some kid that wasn't familiar with rx-7's and didn't know how to unflood it. Vosko came down with me on Thursday, and after failing to pull unflood it, decided to push start it. We pushed it up to about 25 mph with a truck and Vosko popped the clutch and was able to start it. Ran pretty good. Battery was weak, and brakes seriously needed fluid. Throwout bearing is making a little noise. I negotiated the price to $1000, and gave the owner a deposit. Came back Friday with the trailer to get it. This afternoon I towed it to Jehan's house. We flushed and bled the brakes, and got the e-brake unstuck. I still need to pick up a new battery. Monday it will get insured and registerd. I can't wait! I'll take some picks after I wash it.
