what all do you take out of the catalitic converter when boreing it just curious is thier a web page or something that shows you
also when you bore the cata can you do that on any car (89 probe)?

The easiest way to gut a cat is to take a screw driver and smash all the, what looks like mosquito screen, stuff. It's actually all one solid piece, I think. Just hollow out the inside of the cat. Take out everything that is not steel.

Oh, and yes, you can bore out the cats on any car. Some cats have beads in the cat but that is old school. I wouldn't expect too much more performance out of a probe, though, with gutted cats.

Ah... It reduces back pressure. You can see when you look through a cat how much it restricts the flow. It helps more on a turbo thouhg b/c the reduced back pressure increases boost from the turbo. Not so much of a noticable gain on N/A engines.
