i use the hallman manual ceramic boost controler. love that little thing. i have tried electric units from apexi before with no luck due to the screen blanking out and the greddy profec and found the hallman reacted quicker then the electronic ones.

Where do you recommend someone buy that thing? I think I'm in the market for a new one, since my cheapie manual one seems to be allowing spikes to 20 psi or so.

http://www.hallmanboostcontroller.com/ this is there site and where i bought mine. are you sure its your boost controler and not manifold design because that will have an afect on spikes and creep aswell, also size of waste gate. anyways i have never had any issues since i went with this controller.
