waist gate is somewhere around 40mm and i cant fine a boost controler any where.

just a line from the pipes to the waistgate.

as fuel and engine goes, the engine was rebuilt previous owner didnt mention any port mods or anything and fuel looks all stock to me. so i have not a clue.

any ideas on how i can tell on both subjects. ?

previous owner said he ran 11-14 lbs for the track. so i have no clue on how he adjusted the boost if i knew how to post pics up on here id show ya what im workin with.

Find the vacuum line off of the wastegate and follow it back... this might lead you to a valve with a **** on it (manual boost controller).

If there isnt one of these on the car, then the previous owner was either very brave or just a nut-job to be running that turbo and wastegate really hard without dialing-in the boost levels at all. And he was really pushing the limits of the stock fuel system at 14psi... thats basically twice the normal factory boost level. Just swapping out turbo's without any boost control or fuel mods is generally not a good idea in the long run.

show us some pictures, that might help. like from where the lines on the wastegate are leading to and from

go to the bottom of the page and click the button thats says "Use Full Editor"

then you'll see a button that says "Click to Attach Files"... click that

that will let you locate pictures that are saved on your computer and upload/attach them

You're only allowed so much attachment file space but you can upload as many pictures as you want to photobucket then copy the image link to here. Beside the correct link it'll say img and the URL will have img tags around it

Well I seen that on the bov there is a nut on top that looks like its been turned quiet a few times! Could that be the spring on the bov measuring boost? Other than that there a few fittings on the line from the pipe to the waist gate! Once I can load some pics ill show ya!

And another thing, when I build boost it releases even when I don't let off the throttle. It will be at 4 lbs and then boost will be released! And then power will be lost untill I let off throttle or shift! Looked and see if I have any couplers loose or busted but nothing. No vac lines or anything? Had a clamp missing on the line that went to the waitsgate that had one there originaly but didn't pop off. Replaced the clamp and havnt drove it yet! This car is pissing me off so bad. Can't get anything going right for more than a day!

Thanks!

Lol welcome to rotaries. Unless you treat them like the queen of England, you're going to get your *** kicked by breakdowns.

The blow off valve is supposed to just release excess boost. The wastegate is what controls how much pressure you're running. Without a boost controller it relies on the spring inside the waste gate. When boost pressure exceeds the pressure the spring applies, it opens allowing exhaust to bypass the turbo.

That's what I figured! I don't get on it as much anymore! But I took it out last night and I went to build boost and it fluttered on me. Completely gut less! Its driving me nuts! What could cause it to not build boost and make it run like garbage while attempting to do so! Could it be a bad bov bad waist, what? And still couldn't figure out the headlights!
