also for '86-'87 the is a service bullitin 07/87 about relocating the rad cap and source for the overflow---these mods hanen't been done to my '86 but...are ther truly needed?

Get the Mazda thermostat and see what happens from there. vosko is paranoid about coolant seals because he puts acid in his cooling system. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png Alot of the aftermarket thermostats don't have the same opening characteristics as stock thermostats.
so far i'm 3 for 3 on coolant seals. the only engine that didn't have bad ones was the original TII engine that broke a few apex seals https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png
I don't think that I know anyone who has ever had bad coolant seals, except for you. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/rolleyes.gif

If I was you, I would go ahead and purchase a stock thermostat. Go ahead and put that in vs. the aftermarket unit...can't go wrong with the stock thermostat.

You're not supposed to put Liquid Plumber in the cooling system!

fstedy 08-19-2002 04:50 PM

Has anyone used a 'stop-leak' to fix this?...even if its only temporary?

Whay about something similar to the ATF trick but with something else?

Yeah, maybe you should call Roto Rooter to fix your car, or maybe even the Tidy Bowl man.
